Our shields:

• Are constructed with 100% industry leading Dyneema® unidirectional (UD) material, a Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE).  Dyneema® delivers breakthrough polymer science, next-generation fiber technology and unique unidirectional engineering that delivers an armor solution with unmatched ballistic stopping power.
  • Marrero Armor’s trade secret manufacturing formula used in the pressing of our Dyneema® into a shield is what differentiates our armor from all others and is what gives us industry leading stopping power combined with light weight;
• Go far beyond the NIJ minimum requirements and provide multiple hit protection. For Level III, the NIJ standard is to defeat the 7.62x51mm (M80) NATO ball ammunition. Our most capable Level III shield not only defeats the M80 and all lesser rifle rounds, it also is effective in defeating the following special threats:
  • 300 Win Mag (LC)
  • 6.5 Creedmoor (LC)
  • .30-06 Springfield (LC)
  • 7.62x39mm (LC and MSC, Chinese and Russian variants)
  • 5.56x45mm (M193 up to 77gr)
  • 5.45x39mm (MSC)
• Have a unique Double Cutout (DCO) style that allows for simultaneous use of the viewport, protection for the officer and tactical employment of either a handgun or rifle weapon system;
• Have an optional 4”x6” clear, NO TINT viewport;
  • Unlike any other Level III viewport, ours is clear with no tint and has a lifetime guarantee against delamination; it also has a V50 of over 3200 fps vs. the .30-06 Springfield (LC) threat;
• Our larger shields (above 34” high ) have an additional 2” inches of head protection above the viewport;
• Only utilize hardened steel and ballistically tested washers and bolts;
• Where necessary, utilize threaded hardened steel washers that are over-sized to ensure additional protection;
• Our handle is positioned at a distance below the viewport that ensures the viewport is centered on the eye of the operator from the normal carry position;
  • Handles come in either the standard horizontal straight bar or the new tri-grip angled design;
  • The handles are designed to allow for skeletal support of the shield vice muscular support. An operator can “lock” their carry elbow into the hip to help support the shield and the viewport will be in a useful position without muscular repositioning of the shield. This reduces muscle fatigue and allows for operators to stay in the fight longer;
• Our Tactical Cover accessory is designed to facilitate mission success, is available for all shield levels and sizes and serves two purposes:
  • First, it protects the valuable viewport from scratches when the shield is not in use;
  • Second, it affords the operator an opportunity to “kit up” the shield with mission critical items on both the front and back of the shield so unnecessary pauses can be avoided.
