Our Passion Behind The Shield
To design a rifle shield to meet an obsolete 1985 NIJ test standard for ballistic panels is a waste of time, and jeopardizes your safety. We asked ourselves, "why is it that body armor has a more stringent protection requirement by the NIJ than a shield does?" It shouldn't.
Our focus is on a higher standard of protection for warriors - we refer to it as the Marrero Standard! Our standard holds the NIJ 0101.07 as the minimum and design to defeat threats beyond it.

The Marrero Difference
Like our plates, our shields are constructed of 100%, made in the USA, Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE). Our design delivers an armor solution with unmatched ballistic stopping power.
Our proprietary manufacturing process yields industry leading stopping power at the lightest weight.
Marrero shields have a RF1 (M80) V50 rating over 3200 fps. Our optional 4”x6” clear, NO TINT viewport, has a V50 rating of 3220 fps and we exceed the NIJ Standard 0101.07 threat requirements.
Tactics differ. Preferences differ. Choose either of our unique Double Cutout (DCO) or Rectangle (R) designs that allow for simultaneous use of the viewport, protection for the officer and tactical employment of either a handgun or rifle weapon system.
